Accountability: An Instrumental Part of Success
“I didn't start working out or doing anything really athletic until I was 33 years old. Boxing quickly turned into crossfit. 155 pounds and way out of my comfort zone. Along with never working out my eating habits were always sporadic and unstructured.
I've tried eating "paleo" , tracking my eating for the day and keeping it low carb, high protein and ranking myself on a 1 - 5 scale. Always on a short term goal and always ending back at square one.
I was referred to MTMM by a buddy at the gym. Married to My Macros has completely changed the way I eat for the rest of my life.
I've always cut out food and had "cheat days" treating my diet like a good or bad thing. MTMM made it simple. We talked about the energy I spend everyday, cycling to work, gym, on my feet all day. Set a protein goal and knew that I could eat anything I wanted as long as I was hitting that protein number.
The fall out of that was me prepping my food because I was bored of my takeout options, weekly grocery shopping and weekly protein prep.
After a year of MTMM I can say I'm in a new daily habit of eating for energy, eating more whole foods and just am eating way less processed food.
Our weekly/monthly check ins kept me accountable and when I got off track helped me not beat myself up about getting off track for a week.
Now I am the most fit I've ever been at 40, regularly making all my meals and feeling awesome. My only goal is to keep working out and eating like this for the rest of my life.
