Putting the Personal in Personalized Nutrition

“Before trying MTMM I tried working with a dietician. They gave me a plan of when to eat during the day, and some snack and meal ideas. We touched base twice over three months.

I remember wondering what exactly I was getting myself into with coach Ben during our initial assessment. He asked me about 700 more questions than the dietician had, and seemed interested in a lot more than just what I was currently eating.

During our time working together we talked about performance, sleep, general feels, goals, body composition, emotions behind food etc.

I really like the templates MTMM uses, especially as I do shift work, because there was no, ‘eat this at 6pm.’ I figured I had a pretty good idea of what a portion size should look like. ...I did not.

Also, I can’t say enough about the value of having nutrition coaches who are athletes themselves. I wouldn’t expect the average dietician to care when I’m upset about my Fran time, or to walk me through how to eat for a first CrossFit competition, but Ben totally understand where my head was at, and was a supportive, knowledgeable, and kind coach.

The regular check-ins gave me accountability, and I never felt like my templates were set in stone. When my eating was on point it showed in my performance, when I fell out of routine with nutrition goals that was also reflected. Evidently, under fuelling and trying to make strength gains don’t go well together.

Moving forward that gives me motivation to stay consistent with nutrition goals, because I want to perform better, and I want to feel overall better.

Coach Ben also helped me to realize that I was lactose intolerant!!!! I had no idea. My life is exponentially better!!! I learned things in those 9 months that I will be able to use for the rest of my life, and that’s so valuable. I highly recommend MTMM!” - Kaylee
